The Dean of UNITE Unyama Campus, Mr. Pario Lot
Ewaku, has officially briefed students from both the May and August intakes,
outlining key guidelines on tuition payments, academic sessions, and campus
policies.
In his address, Mr. Pario
emphasized the importance of cooperation and commitment among students, urging
them to focus on completing their academic programs. He further clarified the
difference between semesters and sessions, particularly for in-service
students. According to him, “a semester runs
for four months with 17 weeks, and for in-service students, each semester is
divided into two sessions.”
On matters of
finance, Mr.Pario reminded students that tuition fees are paid per semester
while functional fees are paid annually. He stressed that all payments must be
made directly to the bank, warning students against entrusting money to campus
employees. “Employees are not supposed to
accept any cash payments at any time. Students must ensure they keep their
receipts safe and secure as proof of payment,” he advised.
He also announced
that tuition may be paid in installments, provided all balances are cleared by
the time of final examinations. Accommodation fees were set at Shs 300,000 for
pre-service students and Shs 150,000 for in-service students. Additionally, each
student is required to pay Shs 20,000 to the National Council for Higher
Education (NCHE).
Mr. Pario clarified
that meals are not provided by the institution, but students may arrange
privately with accredited service providers. A circular on the new payment
guidelines, issued by the Institute Secretary, who also serves as the
accounting officer, will be shared across all student platforms to ensure
compliance.
The Dean concluded
by strongly cautioning students to avoid errors during payments and to seek
clarification from the administration whenever necessary.
